On Saturday, we will go from the airport to the Amazing Grace Children’s Home, where we will be welcomed, share a meal together, introduced to the children and the staff, given some of the history of the ministry, and get to tour the facilities. After our time at the Children’s Home, we will check in at Hotel Quinto Sol, where you will have your choice of dinner in the hotel restaurant or a nearby taqueria.
On Sunday, we will get to have a slow morning with a breakfast buffet at the hotel before joining the AGCH at Ebenezer Baptist Mission for a special program and worship services. We will stay around for hamburger lunch and host an afternoon carnival for the kids. Of course, there will be piñatas!
When the festivities are complete, we will return to the hotel for dinner. Afterward, we will work together to prepare for the big Fiesta we will throw for all the kids on Monday.
On Monday, we will enjoy a breakfast followed by a morning devotional. Afterward, we will have the opportunity to go see the Pyramids located just across from where we are staying. For lunch, we will go to La Gruta Restaurant, which means “The Cave,” because it is a restaurant located inside a cave. We will return and make final preparations for the Fiesta – an evening where we celebrate the kids with pizza, ice cream, games, and personal gifts for every child and staff of AGCH.
Tuesday will begin with breakfast at the hotel restaurant, followed by a time of testimony from the children at AGCH, where they will be able to share the impact that the Children’s Home has had on their life and the difference Christ has made for them. Once concluded, we will load the bus and head to Mexico City. The day’s sightseeing will give opportunities to gain insight into the historical, cultural, and religious background of the Mexican people, and gain a much better understanding of the need for the ministry of Amazing Grace Children’s Home. You will have opportunities to shop for souvenirs along the way as well.
Wednesday will be our last full day in Mexico. It will also be the day the kids look forward to the most! We will eat an early buffet breakfast at the hotel followed by a morning devotion, then we will load up on two busses with the kids to head into the mountains to BioParque Estrella. It’s about an hour and a half drive to get there, so we will have some activities on the bus for the kids, but most importantly, it’s a great time to grab a translator and get to know one of the kids! At the BioParque, we will get to do a variety of activities, such as boat rides, an animal safari, a simulated sledding hill, a pirate show – it is great fun for all! When we return from the BioParque, we will say our goodbyes to the children and begin preparing to head home the next day.
