The LORD's Army is a program for our Elementary School Age children at Rodgers Baptist Church. It encourages scripture memorization, Bible study, and putting what they have learned into action. These are not Sunday School lessons, but an additional program, or a supplement for parents to use with their children.

Each "soldier" is given a book based upon their grade level. Once they complete their book, they are given the next level book. Each book contains a Rank Exam (Boot Camp and Basic Training for our new "recruits"), Calisthenics, and Maneuvers.

The Rank Exam is basically the same for each age group. These are important areas that should be remembered and so they are repeated each year. It includes the Plan of Salvation, learning the books of the Bible, why we should study and memorize God's Word, and our motto "Be Prepared" with the verses that go with it (Ephesians 6:10-17).

The Calisthenics vary from one year to the next. They are Bible Studies where the "soldier" has a portion of scripture to read, a portion of scripture to memorize, and questions to answer. This part of the book is to teach them how to study their Bible as well as to get them in the habit of Bible study.

The Maneuvers are sections they do to put Bible principles into action. They have a portion of scripture to memorize and then an action to complete. The favorite of the parents of our "soldiers" is the section on Obeying Parents.
